Stations’ atriums are bizarre locations in which life is suspended and hyperkinetic at the same time. People come and go, generally in a hurry to catch a train or to get where they have to be… but they are not properly living: stations are places of transition in which regular scheduling and normal life is put on hold. But stations are also, in the most stereotyped way, scenarios for dramas and overwhelming joys: for every “goodbye” there’s a “welcome back”.
